ROKC at NARA-5

Joe Molina’s HSCA interview which was supposedly to be ‘postponed in full’ yet it was already released in 1998.

Some interesting titbits in Molina’s testimony, see for yourself.

I am working on redoing the page on Molina, but this will take some time since I have a few articles to do before I can dig into this matter.

Pierce Allman.

Allman looked back at the TSBD and saw two Negros up in a window of the TSBD, so he looked that way almost straight after, as Bonnie Ray Williams, Harold Norman and James Jarman made their way to the other side of the building to get a better view of what had happened down Elm. Allman did not see a rifle being withdrawn.

From his observations it is highly uncertain he encountered Oswald, he is not able to describe the man he encountered, yet the man who asks him to keep his call short and then get off the phone, he describes the possible Military Intelligence man  in very good detail.

Hosty met with Jack Revill in the garage of the DPD and threw Oswald under a bus at about 3 PM on Nov 22nd. Revill made a report on instruction of Captain Gannaway describing the conversation that made Hosty look bad. Revill testified in front of the WC about the whole event as well. Made Hoover’s club look bad so Hosty got transferred to Kansas and docked on his pay.

ROKC at NARA-1

ROKC has managed to get to NARA and get a few boxes shown with HSCA documents of some of the TSBD employees, and we found a few bits of interest. It was surprising to see that certain folders were kept in the CIA classified section. As of now I have no knowledge whether these are to be released next year.

Danny Garcia Arce in his HSCA statement: “Lee Oswald rode down in the elevator with us…..” which contradicts the whole elevator race story. They may have surely had some of these races, but not at that time.

Roy Truly’s and Marrion Baker’s FBI statements from Sept 23rd 1964 were rushed back to Washington, probably to be there to be included with the Warren Report which was printed already and to be handed to LBJ the next day. They wanted to make sure these statements were back in time. The timing of this is nothing short of amazing.

CIA document Lee Oswald’s activities Nov 22-24

Thanks to Malcolm Blunt for handing me this document from the HSCA while at the DPUK Canterbury seminar last April. This CIA document, sadly undated, shows Lee Oswald’s activities from Nov 22nd to the 24th.

The fact that the CIA went through all the witness statements and testimony and put them in chronological order is interesting by itself. There are even two pages with diagrams of who was were.

Interesting indeed.

Billy Lovelady was not standing on the top of the steps

Lately a few individuals have tried to claim that Prayer Man was very short and they used ‘calculations’ and the ‘fact’ that Lovelady was standing on the landing when Dave Wiegman filmed the front of the TSBD. They  used Lovelady’s height to ‘prove’ that Prayer Man (read: Lee Harvey Oswald) was way shorter and could not possibly be Oswald.

Let’s debunk this shall we?

All types of faulty and/or made-up calculations and lines drawn on a picture were presented as analytical research, none of which was supported by any type of evidence. No one bothered to mention what camera Wiegman was using, nor could any one present an exact location as to where Wiegman was filming from, add on that all this happened while the vehicle he was standing in was moving which makes it even more difficult to ascertain Wiegman’s position.

In short: utter junk science that no one else than the believers Richard Gilbride and Albert Doyle seemed to subscribe to and they ended up trolling a few forums with their science.

While going through the photos of the Wiegman film I came across a neat little find two days ago, something that I was only able to do so as we managed to get a high resolution scan from the NARA archives in the Richard E. Sprague collection.

The find was Bill Shelley (underneath No.3), with Prayer Man being No. 1 and Billy Lovelady No. 2. This pic. is from the second segment Wiegman filmed of the front of the TSBD and it also shows that Lovelady has stepped down (compared to his position in the first segment) and it also shows that Shelley has moved slightly more to the left (he is now behind Otis Williams whereas he is more to the right of him in the first segment, see the 4th photograph below). This is a good indicator that while the shots were fired they already made a move to go down and check out what was going on. The two Gerda Dunckel GIFs show that Shelley and Lovelady had left the steps and made their way to the rail road yard further west of the building within seconds after. I go in great detail about this  HERE.

Shelly was standing on the top of the landing. Whereas Lovelady was not, as he stated in 1964 in an article by Dom Bonafede “I was standing on the first step”

q Prayer Man, Billy Lovelady and Bill Shelley in the Wiegman film. Click pic to enlarge.

Lovelady had a very curious attitude as he is seen in much lower on the steps and to the left, behind Roy Lewis/Carl Edward Jones in the Hughes film. This is while the motorcade is turning on to Elm St.

Lovelady in the Robert Hughes film. Click pic. to enlarge.

Altgens 6 shows that Lovelady moved up and further to the right, his distance is further away from Jones.

Brian Doyle and Richard Gilbride have been claiming, that Prayer Man is too short to be Oswald. This of course is not supported by anything but made-up calculations and picking up pseudo science from other peeps such as Drew Phipps and presenting pix with neat little lines and numbers that basically amount to nothing. Not one person at the forums this bunk was posted at supported any of it.

The kicker is that Lovelady was not standing on the top landing, because he is seen leaning against the railing in the first segment of the Wiegman film. Check his body posture compared to all other individuals on  those steps, they are all standing straight, even though Lovelady is following the events happening down Elm St and his body is turned into that direction his body posture shows he is leaning. Take a look at the 2nd segment photo and you see that Lovelady is standing straight on the steps, as he is making a move going downwards.

Lovelady leaning in Wiegman, click pic. to enlarge.

Lovelady stepping down, click pic. to enlarge.

The issue with that is you cannot lean against the railing while standing on the top landing!

See for yourself in the photograph below. The railing is mounted flush on the vertical part of the last step leading to the landing, the bar of the railing would be slightly in front of the landing.  The deniers will claim that it is still possible, yet it would be so awkward and since Lovelady’s posture doesn’t ascribe to that it is safe to say that Lovelady from standing just behind Roy Lewis / Carl Edward Jones moved upward and to the right to the 5th or the 6th step of the TSBD stairs.

Front steps TSBD

But why do we not throw something valuable on top and that is a statement by Lovelady himself in May 64 published in the NYHT by Dom Bonafede.

The lens Wiegman used was a wide angle lens, this creates distortions and Lovelady while moving downward as in the 2nd segment would appear slightly taller than Prayer Man since he is, by that time, standing more forward.

But what is more important is that Prayer Man is of roughly the same height as Lovelady and THAT makes Prayer Man, besides the enormous amount of other evidence a prime candidate to be Lee Harvey Oswald.

No stranger

No woman

No other TSBD worker has been identified for that position.

Oswald himself said: ”Out with Bill Shelley, in front”.

No dwarf either.

Brian Doyle and Richard Gilbride should get back to the drawing board and come up with their next scheme as this one, like their previous ones is dead in the water.

***

Then there is another issue as to what Prayer Man was doing with the shiny object he is bring towards his face.

On my calibrated screen (and if you do not have one you may experience issues seeing this clearly as I do) the Wiegman film shows he using one hand (his right) to bring iot towards his mouth. This is not a camera! But more than likely the bottle that was photographed in Prayer Man’s position after the deed.

Sniper position in DalTex building by Shel Hershorn

Some Shel Hershorn shots, quite rare (not any more :) ) and show a possible sniper position, which has a way better view than the so called sniper’s nest on the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository.

I have no idea when and  why they went into the DalTex building to take these pix of a possible sniper’s position.

ROKC Exclusive scans from the Richard E. Sprague collection at NARA.

I asked Bob Prudhomme what rifle was being used in these shots and he replied the following:

“This is a sporterised 6.5mm Carcano, but not the short rifle model that Oswald allegedly used. This is a sporterized 6.5mm Carcano M91 (or M91/41) long rifle. Three things give it away.

1. The distinctive protruding Carcano magazine.

2. The very obvious split bridge on the receiver, requiring the bolt handle to be almost vertical when extracting a cartridge.

3. The M91 and M91/41 were made with straight bolt handles. If you look closely, you can actually see where a gunsmith has heated this handle up with a torch, and bent it downward, giving it a more sporty look.

I might also point out that, if this is a Carcano rife (and I believe it is one), there is no way a scope could be mounted directly above the receiver, as shown here. It would have to be offset to the left of the receiver, as can be seen on C2766.

There are two reasons for having to offset the scope to the left on a Carcano.

1. As I pointed out, the bolt handle stands straight up when extracting an empty cartridge, and would hit a scope directly above the receiver. Even the bent down handles will interfere with a scope.

2. As the Carcano must be loaded with a clip, there is no way a clip can be inserted into the magazine with a scope directly above the receiver.

Then there is the issue as to when these were taken, well….at the education forum the discussion pointed to an old thread started by Don Roberdeau about Mack White who was in Dealey Plaza as an eleven year old.

I quote: “At one point, my father pointed out the so-called “sniper” window to me. As I was looking up, my eye wandered away from the window to the fire escape on the building across the street–the Dal-Tex building-where I saw two men taking turns looking through the scope of a rifle mounted on a tripod.

I was alarmed. “What are they doing?” I asked.

“It’s part of the investigation,” said my father.

So the police were checking out an alternative sniper perch. Evidently, that morning, there was still something resembling a real investigation. The investigation, of course, would end the next day with Oswald’s death.”

Bluntly Speaking With Bart Kamp

Lone Gunman Podcast 115 featuring yours truly and the Malcolm Blunt interview from the Dealey Plaza Uk seminar in Canterbury on April 24th.

More Jim Murray aftermath photos

I went through some of the contact sheets ROKC managed to snag from Richard E Sprague’s NARA collection.

Here is another batch.

All photos: Jim Murray.

Pauline Sanders, Mrs Robert Reid and O.V. Campbell

What are the odds that both of Truly’s secretaries have the same conversation with the TSBD’s vice president just after the shooting?

Pauline Sanders who stood on top of the steps of the Texas School Book Depository, and Mrs Robert Reid who stood with Truly and Campbell near Elm St. both discussed the trajectory of where the shots came from just after the shooting, but with a few neat little twists.

Reid makes mention of it in her handwritten statement of Nov 23rd 1963, but there is one important fact that seems to be overlooked by many:

In it she says “I remarked to Mr. Campbell who was standing near by that I thought that the shots had come from our building. But I heard someone else say no, I think it was further down the street

In the FBI affidavit of Nov. 26th 1963 there is no mention of this conversation at all. Nor is there any mention of this in the Secret Service Report of Dec 4th.

And when it is time for her testimony in front of the Warren Commission that ‘someone else’ who replied to her on Nov. 22nd has become O.V. Campbell instead!

***

Pauline Sanders makes mention of the O.V. Campbell conversation on Nov. 24th in her FBI statement, and she does not repeat it anywhere else nor does she get called up to testify so that’s that.

But Sanders does have a telephone conversation with Reid and a truckload of hearsay is being relayed (with regards Oswald’s so called encounter with Reid in the 2nd floor office). And the whole thing is jotted down in support of Reid’s and Sander’s testimony.

Dealey Plaza UK Seminar in Canterbury

April 23rd and 24th the Dealey Plaza UK research group held their annual seminar in Canterbury. This was the 14th edition!

Location for its attendees to present their findings was Christchurch University right next to the center. Canterbury itself is a beacon of historic monuments, some of it is a feast for the human eye.

After Stuart Galloway bid everyone welcome it was up to Alaric Rosman to talk about the confusion regarding the rifle. The large projected screen proved to be a major asset for power point presentations.

I followed Alaric with the first half of my Prayer Man talk. In this one hour slot I discussed the films and the ongoing search to obtain better copies of them and also discussed some of the TSBD employees. One hour is not enough to discuss all the details of Lovelady, Shelley, Frazier and some of the others. I could easily fill two hours on them alone!

After that most of us headed for the pub nearby to scoff on fast food and plenty of beers for us to return and for me to discuss part 2 of my talk. This segment dealt with Lee Oswald’s interrogations and the second floor lunch room encounter which went from that to there was no 2nd floor lunchroom encounter to there never was a 2nd floor at the TSBD in the first place! This last remark is a joke obviously but the collection of statements and screw ups by all involved parties destroy this particular fairy tale of nailing Oswald for the assassination.

Straight after that Larry Hancock gave an excellent presentation on National Security Response on Nov 22nd vs other major events. Great talk but staring at just a few pages with text is demanding, a few pix alongside this would make it even more interesting. Sadly Ian Griggs did not feel well enough to hold his talk about the Dallas Police Department, a real shame and I hope he will be able to do this soon at one of the mini seminars this year, I for one look very much forward to this. The man is an authority on this subject and needs to be heard

Closing off was Paul Brown’s talk Fingerprints of Intelligence part 2 (the first installment being shown in 2015). Part 3 to follow next year, I very much look forward to that.

After that we all retreated to our rooms only for us to get together again at Pilgrim’s Hotel for a lush dinner. I had the pleasure to discuss things with Malcolm Blunt who is just a vault of information regarding this case. Everyone was quite tired and most of us went back to our rooms for a well  needed sleep (I got up at 5 and by 11 I was beat…).

The next day started with Barry Keane giving an excellent opening address in memory of JFK, accompanied with a nice set of slides. This was followed by the auction of various JFK related coins, books and films all handled by Mike Dworetsky and Allan Johnson.

Then Greg Parker came on, first with the movie he had prepared for us all to discuss his vols 1 & 2 of Lee Harvey Oswald’s Cold War, after which we got him on the telephone to ask him a few questions regarding Ferrie, CAP, Oswald etc.

Then we had a quick lunch thanks to a delivery of M&S and after that Malcolm Blunt and I sat down for an hour’s long Q&A. To me this was the highlight of the weekend to be confronted with such a wealth of knowledge.

Bill Beadle followed with his talk of presidential assassinations, barely a word about JFK, but no less interesting. Without visuals a bit hard to stay focused on the info being thrown at you but a very good talk nevertheless. Jean Shields ended the seminar with her talk about Friends and Family, a subject that proved to be a welcome distraction.

Overall a really impressive line -up and above all a very amicable atmosphere among attendees and such a ton of information made available regarding this case. I cannot wait for next year’s because I am definitely there!

Thanks to Stuart Galloway who did an amazing job in setting all this up!

Developments

This coming weekend, as mentioned before I will be giving a talk at the Dealey Plaza UK conference in Canterbury, and the next day I will moderate a Q&A with Malcolm Blunt.

I have worked on the software that I used for the movie and there will be more sources to show for the fakery of the 2nd floor lunchroom encounter.

It is my intention to show more media on Lovelady, Shelley, Molina, the 4th floor ladies, the 5th floor African Americans and Roy Truly.

And the interrogations of Oswald and the main players involved with that , this will be discussed in more detail.

The Camera section will be more concise, but one cool revelation is to be added about the history of the discovery of Prayer Man. This has not been shared publicly yet.

Finally the search for the images gets a bit of an update.

I am partly going to use this talk to see where to improve before I start making new movie clips which I hope to make a beginning with in May and release these over this Summer they shall be released in approx. 25 minute segments.

In the mean time I am looking forward to two days of JFK nattering and downing a few jars! I shall be reporting about this event next week. I also hope to publish the talk with Malcolm Blunt as well.

Lee Oswald leafleting in New Orleans

As most of you are aware, the other week there was this story about Ted Cruz’s father Rafael Cruz Sr. being recognised as part of a group of Cuban fellas in front of the Trade Mart in New Orleans. We know that Carlos Bringuier was one of them  with Lee Oswald in the foreground handing out leaflets warning citizens to keep their hands of Cuba. The Oswald part was discussed a gazillion times and you won’t get me debating it much further. Nor will I discuss the Cruz part since it is just rubbish as well, sounds more like a smear than anything legitimate, I would not be surprised that this is a payback from the Trump camp regarding Trump’s dad and the KKK  . JFKFacts and other sites debunked this rubbish rather quick.

Then someone started mentioning that the white guy looked like Bill Shelley and there is no evidence whatsoever pointing to that. The only person one could suspect being that would be Thomas Edward Beckham, but even that is not as straight forward as it seems. Beckham is still alive btw. And that’s as much as I am getting involved on this issue.

But a fellow ROKCer went to NARA again and came across these pix, so damned if I am not going to post them.

Captain George “Max” Doughty (wearing a tie), Detective J.B. “Johnny” Hicks (wearing a hat) & Sergeant William E “Pete” Barnes (wearing a bow tie), responsible for Oswald’s fingerprints, palm prints and paraffin test at about 21:30 Nov 22nd.

Thanks to Denis Morissette who pointed out that the guy in the hallway holding Oswald’s finger print card is different than William Barnes, and I cannot find his name, not even in That Day In Dallas that describes the shots Jim Murray took inside the DPD. Another mystery added……

Pierce Allman

Pierce Allman

Pierce Allman was manager of programming and production at WFAA and an important witness to the assassination. He had a prime spot, only a few meters down on Elm from where Tina Towner was standing.

Pierce Allman (centre of photo with his back towards the lens) in Willis 6. Photo: Phil Willis. Click pic. to enlarge

What makes Allman’s testimony so interesting is that he is one of the reporters that thinks he ran into Lee Oswald just when they were entering the Texas School Book Depository. According to Allman he makes his way into the TSBD to get to a telephone to report the news to WFAA.

Added June 2020.

But! In Feb 1964 he stated in the Criminal Intelligence report that neither he nor Terrence Ford saw let alone encountered Oswald.

*****

Upon arrival inside the T.S.B.D. no one bothered to ask him who he was and only an Army  Intelligence Officer asked him to get of the line while he was using the phone. This Military Intelligence Officer is most likely James Powell, who was one of the first to enter the TSBD. According to Powell in the Secret Service Report from Feb. 5th 1964 it says he saw only two persons inside the TSBD near a desk, one of which was Allman. The other person was described as about 30 years old and being  tall.

What needs to be brought up is that the Secret Service report above is not his first interview with Allman,  they also got in touch with him about two weeks after the JFK assassination, however there is no documentation available about this.

In the video below from the 6th floor museum Pierce Allman gives an in depth interview. At 23:00 Allman starts talking about the moment just after the shots and about him making his way towards the TSBD and telephoning the news through and just before that his encounter with Lee Oswald.

According to this interview he times the moment from the final shot to his encounter with Lee Oswald at 3 minutes. He described his activities after the last shot to the audience but the Secret Service report on his actions is a bit more revealing. He ran opposite towards the grassy area where he saw the Newmans lying on the ground. Bill Newman told Pierce Allman that they were ok. Allman said he briefly lost it, and began to run, not knowing where, until he regained his composure and made his way towards the TSBD. This begs the question of course that when someone has ‘lost’ it how on earth can they time any of this? Also three minutes is cutting things fine with Oswald’s ‘escape’ from the 6th floor, then the so called 2nd floor lunchroom encounter, then a convo with Mrs Reid, then get his things and then leave, that is not taking onto consideration that Oswald talked with Bill Shelley before his departure and let’s not even take Buell Frazier’s version into account (which means he left from a  different exit!). And then there is the possible Robert MacNeil encounter as well (although this comes more from William Manchester than it did come from MacNeil himself), which supposedly happened at the same time as well: 12:33

He sends his report through, you can hear this just after the 28:00 mark and then makes his way to the 2nd floor. Why? Only for him to realise that he needs to stay close to the phone and makes his way back down there to be able to keep describing what is going on inside the TSBD. The phone in question is pictured below (which shows Kent Biffle and Virgie Rachley), the man in black in the background inside the TSBD’s first floor is using this phone.

In the past month the movie managed to gain more than 10,000 views as compared to the 10,000 in the 3 months before that since its release in early December 2015.

The pace has been a steady 3/400 views per day. Absolutely amazing and I wish thank everyone, even the deniers, for watching it. I will start working on the next segment in May and gradually release the film in 20/25 minute slots.

A chat with Ian Griggs

Yesterday I met up with Ian Griggs, author of No Case To Answer.

He has been researching this case for decades and he has visited Dallas many many times (he has lost count). A former police officer himself he has dug into the Dallas Police Department more than anyone else. In the DPD section I show a brief summary of how the DPD was organised. This is all thanks to him and his  tenacious efforts in compiling this.

Obviously we discussed mostly Dallas Police related matters, and we went down his memory lane while he showed me around in his house of which one room was a mini museum with his collection, of which I post a few shots down below. I hope to do a proper interview in the near future.

Ian has interviewed quite a few people such as Beverly Oliver, James Tague, Jim Leavelle, Warren Caster to name a few, but his specialty lies with the DPD, of which he is writing another book which hopefully will be published later this year.

Some of our discussions:

  • After his article on Postal Inspector Harry Dean Holmes called The Four Faces Of Harry Dean Holmes, he was contacted by family members of Holmes and they were less than pleased with his assessment. Well they better not look at my page then ;)
  • He has been acquainted with Marina Oswald-Porter on a talk panel and she even bought him a massive plaque  of JFK. He said she asked him if he wanted some thing from an antique shop to which he replied your country is not old enough to have an antiques shop (which is a joke in case you missed it, although it has some truth to it). She went into the shop and bought it for him for about $ 25.00. Some researchers’burned’ Marina Porter, not much later and now she will not talk to anyone, which is a real shame as I and a few other scholars would love to talk to her.

  • He has tried to contact Harry Olson’s former missus Kay Coleman a few years back, but was warned not to pursue this any further. Kay Coleman remarried and lives in Ca.

  • Will Fritz bred horses.
  • The so called recording room right opposite Will Fritz’s Homicide and Robbery Division office, was not wired for sound.

  • Ian Griggs had a decommissioned Mannlicher-Carcano rifle. I had no measuring tape so could not say how long it was, but the rifle was broken apart, so I just held the wooden part of it and I can tell you now that there is no way that rifle could be inside the paper bag since this piece is way too long. I could not cup this underneath my shoulder and inside the palm of my hand.

I hope to see Ian again at the Dealey Plaza UK Canterbury conference on April 23rd/24th where I will present a Prayer Man talk and also will be doing a Q&A with Malcolm Blunt.

I have also been notified that my chat with Rob Clark of the Lone Gunman Podcast has become the highest listened to show so far, not bad indeed! Thank you Robbo!!!

Some more ROKC Scans of Jim Murray. The knoll falls outside my remit but hopefully they will offer some value to somebody else.

Good hunting! All photos by Jim Murray.

10K

The movie has gone past the 10.000 mark. I have to say that I am really chuffed by the numbers and the recent two weeks has seen a dramatic increase of almost 300 views per day.

Thanks to everyone who viewed Prayer Man The Movie Version 1!!!

Add on March 8th 2016:  In the last two weeks the film amassed another 4,000 hits! Compared to 7,300 in 11,5 weeks before.

What will happen with V2?

What I can tell you is that the format will be the same but this time they will be presented as individual movies, so there will be 5 or 6 clips of about 25 mins each. There will be a lot more new graphics and content and I hope to start in a few months time. It will be a different movie.

The Lone Gunman Postcast #104

I have had the pleasure to talk with Rob Clark for the Lone Gunman Podcast.

So far it has been the top listened to show of all 104 eps in the first 24 hours.

It was good fun and in a few months there will be some sort of follow-up with all the progress.

Goodreads

I got a mention on Goodreads, alongside the review of Stan Dane’s book.

“In 2015 Dealey Plaza U.K. held a presentation by a researcher named Bart Kamp which studied the image known as ‘Prayer Man’. Mr. Kamp hopes to publish his findings in 2016. His video is available on You Tube. In the meantime I found out about this 2015 publication from Stan Dane.”

I am chuffed :)

Peggy Joyce Hawkins

Peggy Joyce Bibbler – Hawkins

Peggy Joyce Hawkins (maiden name Bibbler) met her husband at the TSBD along with her child, she stood roughly 50 feet away from the Texas School Book Depository when the shots rang out and she hid behind the retaining wall. After realising no more shots were being fired and  returning to the TSBD she saw a policeman stand there, and heard some remarks about the railroad yard through the police radio.

Truly and Baker, leg sticking out behind tall fella. Click pic. to enlarge.

The Darnell film only shows Baker’s run, it does not show him going up the steps, it has been automatically assumed he dashed up the stairs before Roy Truly could catch up with him. The story of them going up the stairs together has always been met with disbelief. You can see Truly in the Darnell film slowly turning and making his way towards the front steps, but at a slow speed compared to Baker. Then again the steps were pretty filled up with employees, some had left but others were returning and the whole east side of the steps was filled with mostly women looking out and discussing what had happened and Joe Molina stood at the very top. Buell Wesley Frazier stood dead centre.

But Peggy Joyce Hawkins. statement puts some doubt into this. This you can see at the bottom of page 1 of her FBI statement. She walked back to the TSBD and saw a motorcycle police officer in front of the building. Now unless some other motorcycle police officer went there it could be assumed that Marrion L. Baker stood longer outside than has been assumed.

The radio transmission she speaks of is Jesse Curry’s who said this while the cars were passing the triple underpass.

At 12:30 Have my office move all available men out of my office into the railroad yard to try to determine what happened in there and hold everything secure until Homicide and other investigators should get there.

She also made her way back into the building, and this is confirmed by the so called roll call sheet. This roll call sheet itself isn’t much from an evidentiary p.o.v., as Geraldine Reid is mentioned twice, Charles Douglas Givens is missing and Lee Oswald is right at the top (which points more to his name being taken down from the word go than him being the missing person!).

What doesn’t help is the second page of her FBI statement that she doesn’t remember who she encountered while making her way back. And let’s face it, this is a black hole overall with most statements from that day.

But then there is Robert Mac Neil, a journalist, who was part of the motorcade and who went into the TSBD to make a phone call. This call being logged at 12:36 and him stating that he did not see any police inside the building while making the call, and this has a ring of truth to it, since his head office reported the time, but also looking at the radio transmissions and the prders of going to the TSBD and investigate further.

At 12:34 I just talked to a guy up here who was standing close to it and the best he could tell it came from the Texas School Book Depository Building here with that Hertz Renting sign on top.

At 12:36 Witness says shots came from fifth floor, Texas Book Depository Store and Houston and Elm. I have him with me now and we are sealing off the building.

At 12:37 Get some men up here to cover this school depository building. It’s believed the shot came from, as you see it on Elm Street, it would be upper right hand corner, second window from the end.

I am now pretty convinced Baker and Truly stood outside, this witness testimony in conjunction with Chris Davidson’s gif which shows Baker veering further to the right than the actual steps.

This might be Peggy Bibbler Hawkins standing and holding her child. If this is her then she had an excellent vantage point to hear the motorcycle belonging to Marrion Baker and look towards the front entrance of the Texas School Book Depository.

Ochus Virgil Campbell in the NYHT

I try to get the best possible quality media and graphics for the movie I have done and also for the next version I want to release this year. For this I had a little list of gaps that needed to be filled in. One of the pieces I wanted to get was the article from the New York Herald Tribune from Nov 22nd. In research circles this article contains a quote by Ochus V. Campbell which has been used by Sean Murphy i/e, but I never managed to see the article itself. If I am not mistaken it was Sylvia Meagher who used it in her book Accessories After The Fact as a first, but no one actually bothered to dig it out.

At ROKC we had a little discussion and I pointed out I wanted to have this piece for my film and after I found the actual physical copy of it on eBay and noted that the postage was 150% of the actual sale price Stan Dane who wrote Prayer Man: Out of the Shadows and Into the Light, graciously offered to buy it for me. Once he got it in his mail box he made a high res scan and sent it to me.

Sadly there isn’t a way to ascertain who actually wrote the piece, but what matters is that I have the physical piece that shows the quote by Ochus Campbell. He was Roy Truly’s boss. He is to this day quite an elusive character and very little is known about him, nor have I many pictures of Ochus Virgil Campbell. If you read this and you do, please contact me, as all we have so far is him standing next to Roy Truly in the Wiegman film on the far right of the frame below.

Ochus V Campbell, click pic to enlarge.

Stan Dane posted a piece about this on his Prayer Man FB page. Next thing I know Vince Palamara picked up upon this as well, I feel left out dammit ;)

So here is the scan of this particular piece from the New York Herald Tribune. What is so special about this?

Well for starters it is a direct quote, the actual article was written on Nov. 22nd and published on the day after. And this is important information that confirms that Oswald was on the 1st floor in the TSBD close after the shooting of JFK. What is also interesting is that Ochus Campbell, as time progressed, tried to distance himself more and more from Lee Oswald; that he barely knew him and so on. The documents regarding this can be viewed at the Ochus Campbell page.

Ochus Virgil Campbell in the NYHT Nov 22 1963

The 6th floor window in the Robert Hughes film

Robert Hughes

Robert Hughes

On Nov 26th 1963 Robert Hughes hands over his film which he shot while the motorcade was turning from Houston on to Elm St. on Nov 22nd 1963.

The FBI initially investigates and reckons there is a person visible in the window where the so called sniper’s nest is located. But they change their mind once the film is being studied in Washington.

Although the FBI had the Hughes film in its possession 4 days (Nov 26th 1963) after the Big Event, the WC decided not to use it. This is an important FACT! Actually the WC barely used anything from that day while they were aware of most photographs and film footage they choose not to admit it into evidence.

In a memo dated Nov 26th it says it appears that there may be someone in the 6th floor window.

This is repeated in a memo on Nov 28th by A. Rosen to Alan Belmont

Alan Belmont  writes on Nov 28th, the same day he received the memo from Rosen without any further evidence besides jumping on the band wagon that he can see one person in the window.

A memo by Robert Barrett makes the same claim, let’s also add that this particular finding comes from Dallas first and foremost. The FBI lab in Wa. has not had their hands on the Hughes film yet and investigate this particular claim. And this shift from Dallas to Washington is where things seem to change!!!

The FBI makes 10 copies of the film according to the memo on Dec 9th (check out all the signatures!) and guess what? They reported they could NOT SEE ANY HUMAN FORM in that window.

But it is getting better! In a memo (which includes Belmont as one of the recipients btw!) from Dec 10th  by W.D. Griffth it is repeated that no human form is visible.

Not only does the FBI investigate this in WA. and comes to the conclusion I just mentioned.. They want a second opinion and the FBI sends it to the Navy Photographic Interpretation Centre and they conclude the same.

Richard E. Sprague adds on that there is no rifle showing either. From a timing perspective this makes it rather difficult to conclude that 3 shots have been fired from that very same window.

I Due K

I Due Kennedy is an Italian documentary from 1969. It is about John and Robert Kennedy. There is some footage that I had not seen about some of the witnesses involved so I took some still grabs which you see in the gallery below.

There was a lot of footage from Africa and Civil Rights related stuff, and mobsters, Castro you name it. I only know some basic Italian so I struggled with understanding what was being said all the time. Still good to see and capture a few images of importance.

The Death of Prayer Woman

The Death of Prayer Woman

It has been an interesting week during the break during the X-Mas and New Years period, but for us ROKCers this last week we made some cool discoveries and achieve a thing or two yay!

I shall begin with the most important one and that is the complete and utter destruction of the phenomena called Prayer Woman, something created by Duncan MacRae of the JFKAssassination forum in September 2015. This was done at the time when the stranger scenario as an alternative to anyone else from the TSBD was completely killed off by yours truly and the spread sheets demonstrating this (this was based on Richard Hocking’s and Sean Murphy’s deduction work). This stranger scenario was completely debunked by the testimonies of almost all of the TSBD employees such as in CE 1381.

Duncan MacRae hails from Glasgow Scotland and has an interest in the photographic evidence, so he says. His knowledge of the technical side of photography is practically non existent  and he relies on a few friends (such as Craig Lamson from Ft. Wayne in Indiana) who don’t seem to fare much better or other clowns who hide behind fugezi names, such as John Mytton (this person has been dead for 200 years already). I find people who hide behind fictitious names total cowards and above all I will not listen to one word they say as everything they do say is suspect from the word get go. This goes especially for the next individual.

Albert Doyle, in JFK Research, he is probably one of the most manipulative zealots that is gracing this club. He uses his dead father’s name. How do I and my fellow ROKCers know this? That is because several of us have looked into this and so has Tom Scully. This member has been accused of being a CIA plant at the Deep Politics Form in 2012 and got others banned where it should have been him who should have been shown the door. Since then this individual has mostly posted vile and utter garbage messages on various forums relating to the JFK Assassination.

Albert Doyle has been confronted with this BS and he keeps quiet when this is happening. Our suspicion is that it is his son Brian Doyle (wonder what his brothers and sisters Stephen Doyle, Patricia Doyle, Christine Doyle and Theresa Doyle think of this?).  There are three accounts at Amazon handled by this ‘person’. One is his dead dad, the other under the name Brain Doyle and the third by the name Ralph Yates (a character from the JFK Assassination-era) .  Three accounts all by one person, think of this what you will….

His review at Amazon on Stan Dane’s book reads as follows (bear in mind Amazon does not allow links to outside sources so they are not included).

PMBookCover 2.9.22.15

The Reopen The Kennedy Case (ROKC) website is behind this book as Stan Dane and Greg Parker are regular organizing members. A month ago Assassination researcher Duncan MacRae posted a blow-up of the film frame image of Prayer Man taken by WBAP camera-man James Darnell. The blow-up image clearly shows the long dark hair and arm posture of a woman, therefore refuting the thesis of this book that Prayer Man is Lee Harvey Oswald. But even better the MacRae blow-up clearly shows 4 buttons (or fasteners) on the garment worn by Prayer Man, the bottom-most of which is too low to be on any clothing worn by Oswald. This is clear proof that the coat or dress being worn by Prayer Man could not possibly match the known clothing worn by Oswald that day.

If you look at the link below you’ll see MacRae’s blown-up image of Prayer Man in the portal of the Texas School Book Depository in Dealey Plaza taken seconds after president Kennedy was shot. MacRae has drawn arrows pointing to the buttons, or possible loop or cloth fasteners, that are clearly visible in the blow-up. There’s no doubt that these are coat or dress buttons or fasteners because they appear exactly where they should be if so. So anyone credibly researching this claim would need to answer for them and how they affect the evidence. If you scan this review section or the internet in general those who subscribe to the Oswald as Prayer Man theory refuse to even address this conclusive evidence. They stay away from it like the Wicked Witch Of The West avoids water. They even falsely claim the buttons are an artifact of computer enlargement, however they can’t substantiate that once forced into the technical detail involved with such a claim. Their claim that the buttons are pixel quirks caused by the film grain being too small for enlargement actually works against them once you credibly analyze it. They can’t explain how there would be 4 buttons right where they should be?

The buttons or fasteners are prime evidence that Oswald cannot be Prayer Man because the lowest of the buttons is too low to match Oswald’s known clothing that day. The ROKC Prayer Man advocates have been conspicuously, self-destructively, and uncredibly unable to answer this. Instead they run from it and try to ignore it. In doing so they forfeit the credibility of their entire website.

Here is MacRae’s blow-up of Prayer Man. The buttons or fasteners are plainly visible and therefore require credible scientific explanation. So far ROKC hasn’t been able to give any:

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

You would think Albert “Dead Man Walking” Doyle has some sort of expertise under his belt, but unless it is trolling he has no qualifications when it comes to any type of photography, he doesn’t even know how to post an image on a forum……..I kid you not. And he is  being lambasted for it by a group of deniers. I shall spare you all the details as it is page after page at a certain forum.

The funniest thing is that Doyle-MacRae-Lamson do not have much in common. Doyle is a conspiracy theorist whereas the other two are of the opposite opinion (Oswald did it), it makes an amusing read especially when one has to consider that MacRae is just winding Doyle up.

*****

I shall attach some of the pix which are still grabs from the three youtube films Duncan MacRae has plastered on the web and a gif all regarding the fugezi called Prayer Woman.

MacRae does not supply any supporting evidence for his assertion(s) besides a set of squares and arrows that supposedly show a purse,  a black plastic shopping bag and more importantly a set of buttons of a large overcoat.

The coloring in image two is a leftover after messing with brightness, contrast and possibly sharpening.  Nor do I have an explanation for the blackening of the area to the right of Prayer Man (the window behind him), perhaps Duncan MacRae does……..what I do know is that it has been added and is not a result of lowering the density. Compare that image with any of the others in that section and you will realise that what happened to the glass behind Prayer Man simply isn’t right.

The Jimmy Darnell Film

Let me explain why Duncan MacRae, Albert Doyle and Craig Lamson are just way way off. Below you see a screen grab of the Darnell film (shot on 16mm film originally), this is how big the actual image is in digital format from a DVD , and it also shows you how big Prayer Man actually is inside this pic. This screen grab is from the Beyond JFK: The Question Of Conspiracy DVD that came with JFK The Movie. So for starters what generational copy are we talking about here?

20130908-003704

The original Darnell film is gone (it went with the Wiegman film to NBC in NY and has never been seen since), we know that the 6th Floor Museum has a 1st generation copy  so let’s assume it is this copy that the producers used. So this 1st generation copy was duplicated and then of course duplicated for the DVD of which we have  a still grab,  but it is saved in a compressed format as a jpeg.

It could be even worse from a quality p.o.v. with this grab, and we think this is actually the case. We think that it is a copy from video tape and not the 1st generation copy film itself. This would make the end result even less crisp and more fuzzier and could import artifacts such as the ones shown in the still image above, which are hard to see but which I shall enlarge, adjust its levels and show below. The image is littered with dots and streaks.

Prayer Man

There are a few enlarging techniques that can be used. I don’t know what was used for the image posted by Sean Murphy.

One is to increase is its actual size, another is to increase its dpi (dots per inch) and within these two a few elements can be (un)ticked such as scale styles, constrain proportion and resample image.

Then there is also which way to resample the image and from that there is an array to choose from:

Automatic

Photoshop chooses the resampling method based on the document type and whether the document is scaling up or down.

Preserve Details (enlargement)

When this method is chosen, a Noise reduction slider becomes available for smoothing out noise as you upscale the image.

Bicubic Smoother (enlargement)

A good method for enlarging images based on Bicubic interpolation but designed to produce smoother results.

Bicubic Sharper (reduction)

A good method for reducing the size of an image based on Bicubic interpolation with enhanced sharpening. This method maintains the detail in a resampled image. If Bicubic Sharper oversharpens some areas of an image, try using Bicubic.

Bicubic (smoother gradients)

A slower but more precise method based on an examination of the values of surrounding pixels. Using more complex calculations, Bicubic produces smoother tonal gradations than Nearest Neighbour or Bilinear.

Nearest Neighbor (hard edges)

A fast but less precise method that replicates the pixels in an image. This method preserves hard edges and produces a smaller file in illustrations containing edges that are not anti-aliased. However, this method can produce jagged effects, which become apparent when you distort or scale an image or perform multiple manipulations on a selection.

Bilinear

A method that adds pixels by averaging the color values of surrounding pixels. It produces medium-quality results.

I myself have not played around a lot with the image when it comes to enlarging it, I am of the opinion that a larger scan needs to become available first, even though the image we have shows a lot of detail and we have discovered a lot of people who are in this shot, a better image is still needed to make it the icing on the cake. The only way to enlarge the image I have done is by using Bicubic Smoother, which is overall used to enlarge images.

Increasing its size will increase  its exposure of digital artifacts, something Albert “Dead Man Walking” Doyle and Duncan MacRae fail to understand.

The image below is an image that Sean Murphy posted, and as you can see this image has already been enlarged and enhanced it displays some of the artifacts already. The purpose of Sean Murphy posting these two photos next to each other was to point out the similarities when it comes to features between Prayer Man and lee Harvey Oswald.

Duncan MacRae uses this image and manipulates it to such an extend with additional brightness/contrast/sharpening adjustments to point out that he is a she and that she is wearing a large overcoat, holds a purse and a back plastic bag. You can check out all this conjecture out in the slideshow above with the still grabs of his videos.

Ok so let’s start rebutting this utter rubbish. The enhancement that has been applied  is visible in the entire image and not just in the close-up, something that Albert Doyle, Duncan MacRae and Craig Lamson steadfastly ignore and/or keep quiet about. The photo below shows the so called buttons which are attributed to fantasise about Prayer Woman’s overcoat are visible in all the parts of the picture below in the grey squares, the streaks and buttons most likely come from the transfer from video tape to digital capture and enhancement. If you take the original image of Darnell above and crank up its size then you can see the artifacts already. The buttons story was dead the day it was ‘invented’. This is something Craig Lamson could have pointed out yonks ago and stop the discussion of this drivel there and then. But the local ‘expert’ kept schtumm instead.
.

The bags and the purse are as easy to refute and this is mainly because Duncan MacRae’s sloppy observational work.

The plastic shopping bag is actually human hair. The red circled person was discovered two years ago due to her foot sticking out, but the head part was always fuzzy, and only a few weeks ago when Mick Purdy sharpened the Darnell image his way did the distinction become clearer, and that she had quite a big hairdo. So that kills the black shopping bag besides the button theory as well.

Human Hair PM

Finally the purse. Besides a quick drawing around a suspected area Duncan MacRae offers nothing else in support of the purse theory either (a pattern has started to emerge…..).

In the Dave Wiegman film  Prayer Man is holding an object that seems to reflect considerably. In the shots below you will see he holds it either in front of his mouth or holds it in front of his chest. Now as a photographer who has worked in advertising and shooting stills many years ago only a few objects can create such a reflection, one would be a shiny metal object. The other glass. Now let’s also bear in mind where Prayer Man is standing: in the shadow. The object he is holding is in front of him and may just catch a ray or two on the edge of that particular shadow.

Check out the 2 fuzzy images below.

Here is a drastic enlargement I managed to make from a scan we obtained from NARA in Nov. 2015

Prayer Man in Wiegman-ROKC Scan Nov 2015

Now then what purse would make such a reflection? That better be some huge diamond on there. And let me just emphasise, even with the quality of the image above, Prayer Man is anything but feminine.

A more plausible scenario would be that Prayer Man is drinking from a bottle, and this could be partially backed with the Wiegman images and the ones that were taken after the Dallas Police Department had secured their so called ‘crime scene’ being The Texas School Book Depository. Important element to add is that the bottle was there for quite some time, since it is still there when female TSBD employees are captured leaving and so is Captain Will Fritz

Check the gallery (all pix by William Allen) below.

  1. When asked for the actual files Duncan MacRae of the JFKAssassinationForum used, he refused to hand them over, later on claiming they were deleted.
  2. When asked after that reply to redo his movements with the images he refused to do so as well. . He did invite us to go to his forum, when he actually put his claim of Prayer woman and her buttons and bag actually at the Education Forum so the point of us going there is?
  3. The invite made no logical sense to debate Craig Lamson over there since he is a member at EF and could have jumped in that thread at any time, but they would have liked us to go there only to be entrapped by half a dozen deniers.
  4. Craig Lamson produced an image for us to check the EXIF data on but it had absolutely nothing to do with the Darnell images, it was a close-up of a plane.
  5. When he asked me whether I would be willing to hand over my images to say Michael Cross I offered them up without hesitation. Michael Cross had nothing to do with ROKC and from a photography p.o.v. challenged D.M. way before I did. Michael is now a member at ROKC btw.

Avoidance is meaningful.

When someone avoids a question, it’s because they are hiding something. When you avoid providing files, it’s because you are hiding them and do not want to admit it.

When the slightest mention of what it means if PM is a man is avoided, then it is because the consequences of it are being avoided also. It plays to the PW ploy to argue over PW images because none of the naysayers wish to entertain one word of what a male gender PM proves, and that is that he is Lee Oswald. That is not just from looking at a fuzzy picture but also from the barrage of evidence that is there from his interrogations and the fugezi regarding the 2nd floor lunch room encounter. All explained in my movie Only The Shadow Knows – Prayer Man, More Than Just a Fuzzy Picture.  (the hint is in the title….in case you did not twig it)

So let’s set aside the truth of what the gender really is for a moment, the proof consequence of even the hypothetical male gender is nearly as toxic as is actual proof of male gender. Keep that cat inside the bag and the bag inside the box.

Because of their avoidance of a discussion of the meaning of PM’s gender, the unassailability of the logic of identification by process of elimination is confirmed as is the completeness and integrity of the analysis in this case.

By virtue of their own avoidance, they are freely admitting that Prayer Man is proved to be Oswald if Prayer Man is male. I simply refer to my spread sheets based on Sean Murphy’s and Richard Hocking’s work. It’s evident also that this Prayer Woman fiasco was started after the stranger scenario was killed off by my spreadsheets and bringing up CE1310.

Not one detail of it has been disputed except to debate the gender of PM, and that wasn’t even inside the matrix inside the box, Oswald was.

Now as to the pictures used in the movies you posted on YouTube, as Ed Ledoux has clearly shown that Duncan MacRae did alter the images, the enormous increase in contrast and density is a prime example but also the paint job he did ever so crudely on the window behind Prayer Man.

Then the method of alteration, it proves absolutely nothing at all. The method cannot be verified, which means he has entered badgeman-land and it is merely an opinion nothing more than that and furthermore if I may add it defies common sense.

Barely anyone else (and the ones that do have shown their true colors) can see in the image what you pretend is there and only with the assistance of arrows, outlines and inserted text to push people over the edge to believe this charade.

What almost everyone seems to forget is the fact that the photograph from the Darnell film is the icing on the cake, it is NOT the irrefutable proof that Oswald is standing outside with Shelley (as he said during his interrogation) and later with Buell Wesley Frazier as has come to light with the documentation that is available and the newspaper reports published that day and the next two days after.

I think it is safe to say that Duncan MacRae’s Prayer Woman theory (!!!) died a death, and there is no need to discuss this fugezi any further.

Albert Doyle take some notes in between trolling and learn to understand the basics of photography.

Craig Lamson show some backbone you spineless wanker. Really your behavior is way below par.

Add on March 28th 2016:

Duncan MacRae has more or less pulled away from all this, and by his own admittance claimed it was a wind up, but Albert Doyle has lied his way continuously ever since my last writings. Shifted his musings to wherever he could, to avoid having to supply direct answers asked by others and he himself completely failed to produce one iota of evidence himself. In 2012 he was accused by others of being a CIA plant, why doesn’t this sound stupid at all…………..

Linda Giovanna Zambanini has made some startling discoveries while looking at some of the Jim Murray photos I published a month or so ago, this particular shot has Maddie Reese and the lady in black who can be seen in Altgens 6, Wiegman and Darnell. It looks, from the paperwork that this is Ruth Dean, although it also could be Sarah Stanton. But I need to see a picture of Sarah Stanton before I lean either way. For now I stick with Ruth Dean, which makes the search for Sarah Stanton just more interesting.

Here they are on the right.

Billy Nolan Lovelady and Bill Shelly did leave the steps almost immediately after the shots were fired.

This post has been amended on Jan 29th, Feb 14th, Feb 16th, Oct. 14th 2016. and Aug. 29th 2017.

And Oct. 30th and Nov 7th 2018.

I am going to put an end to this debate whether Lovelady and Shelly stayed on the steps as they claimed in their Warren Commission testimonies and to which certain people subscribe  to for some obscure reason, there is just plenty to refute this rubbish assertion.

Photo evidence.

For starters, take a look at the Gerda Dunckel gifs below and check Lovelady’s shirt in the very first few frames and also check out the large still I snagged from PBS Breaking The News, click to enlarge, yes that shirt is checkered, compare it to other garments of a lighter colour or the polka dot coat which do not smudge due to  motion and quality loss. Then look at Shelly, with his black suit and his facial and hair features. For reference of who we are talking about I suggest you check out Billy Lovelady’s and Bill Shelley’s pages I have made which contain plenty of photographs of these two individuals. Both pages are still under construction but there is plenty to see from a visual point of view.

Lovelady and Shelly in Couch-1

Upon looking at the image by Couch we see that Shelly wears a black jacket and that Lovelady’s shirt has black horizontal stripes in it. I will place a close-up below. This is not the end result of sharpening and cannot be construed as a digital artefact. Click to enlarge the shot above and you will see that these stripes are nowhere else to be seen on this image. The polka dot coat stays as is, the camouflage/dot coat as well. And even in the light toned skirts/coats there are no such markings to be seen.

Here is a collage of Lovelady’s shirt in many settings.

This ROKC Scan of a Couch film still at first looks very harsh and doesn’t overall have much information, but it does happen to show a lot regarding our illustrious duo. This print comes from the Richard E. Sprague Collection from the National Archives.

I applied various ways of sharpening with overall decent results to be absolutely positive that these two are Shelley and Lovelady. Lovelady’s shirt is a dead give away and so is the shape of Shelley, compare that with the collage below.

Thanks to Ed Ledoux. Lovelady’s bald patch and Shelley’s white sports shirt collar are recognisable as well.

Now let’s have a look at the paperwork such as Lovelady’s and Shelley’s statements and testimonies.

Billy Lovelady

Lovelady’s very first handwritten statement on Nov 22nd 1963 makes no mention of Oswald even after he is paraded past him.

But that very same statement also makes no mention of them (him and Shelley) leaving the steps either. He actually states: ”After it was over we went back into the building and went to work” With the ‘went to work’ bit stricken through. This bit is omitted from the typed up and signed report. See the first two documents below.

But then Billy Lovelady states in the FBI report by Robert M. Barrett from the same day as his affidavit to the DPD: immediately after hearing the shots he and Shelly started running towards the Presidential car, but it sped away west on Elm Street under the triple underpass. He and Shelley then returned to the Texas School Book Depository Building”. During this time he saw no one run out of the building or saw no suspicious individuals.

Lovelady also mentions in document CE 1381, from March 1964, the following: “I recall that following the shooting, I ran toward the spot where President Kennedy’s car had stopped William Shelley and myself stayed in that area for approximately five minutes when we then re-entered the Depository building by the side door located on the west side of the building”.

Add on Aug. 29th 2017:

Then Lovelady talked to a reporter of The Houston Post on the 22nd as well. Lovelady describes W.B. Barnett who ran in front of them towards the rail road yards. Which corresponds with the still photograph of the Couch film.

Bill Shelley.

Shelly (trying to enter the police vehicle) leaves for the DPD station at 13:30 with Danny Arce Garcia and Bonnie Ray Williams as seen below.

Bill Shelly Bonnie Ray Williams Danny Arce Garcia Dealey Plaza-ROKC Scan

He states in his very first D.P.D. affidavit on Nov. 22nd  “I ran across the street to a corner of the park. I ran into a girl crying and she said the president had been shot. This girls name is Gloria Calvery. Who is an employee of this same building. I went back to the building and went inside and called my wife and told her what happened.”  This first statement, like Lovelady’s, contains no reference to Lee Harvey Oswald either. I also value this first statement for the inclusion of him running across after the shots were fired.

FBI Statement of Bill Shelly March 18th 1964 CE 1381: “Immediately following the shooting Billy Lovelady and I left…….”

The primary statements of these two  contradict their WC testimonies, which no one from the WC bothered to ask about while they were giving their testimony.

Warren Commission Testimonies.

Now the only thing that I find true of their WC testimonies is the fact that they left the steps together.

Their timings are way off and Weisberg addressed their rubbish 50 years ago already. Go to his archive and read about it: William Shelley and Billy Lovelady.

In Shelly’s WC testimony things are given a nice twist, they stay there for a minute, they have Gloria Calvery coming up the steps doing her bit which contradicts his first statement. The island gets a mention here. Truly and Baker are seen after 3 or 4 minutes! And then they leave and then are re-entering through the back of the building.
Mr. BALL. Then what happened?
Mr. SHELLEY. Gloria Calvary from South-Western Publishing Co. ran back up there crying and said “The President has been shot” and Billy Lovelady and myself took off across the street to that little, old island and we stopped there for a minute.
Mr. BALL. Across the street, you mean directly south?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes, slightly to the right, you know where the light is there?
Mr. BALL. Yes.
Mr. SHELLEY. That little, old side street runs in front of our building and Elm Street.
Mr. BALL. It dead ends?
Mr. SHELLEY. There’s concrete between the two streets.
Mr. BALL. Elm Street dead ends there just beyond the building, doesn’t it?
Mr. SHELLEY. Well, that’s also Elm that goes under the triple underpass.
Mr. BALL. That is Elm that goes under the triple underpass?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes.
Mr. BALL. You went to the concrete between the two Elm Streets?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes, where they split.
Mr. BALL. You went out there and then what did you do?
Mr. SHELLEY. Well, officers started running down to the railroad yards and Billy and I walked down that way.
Mr. BALL. How did you get down that way; what course did you take?
Mr. SHELLEY. We walked down the middle of the little street.
Mr. BALL. The dead-end street?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes.
Mr. BALL. Did you see Truly, Mr. Truly and an officer go into the building?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yeah, we saw them right at the front of the building while we were on the island.
Mr. BALL. While you were out there before you walked to the railroad yards?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes.
Mr. FALL. Do you have any idea how long it was from the time you heard those three sounds or three noises until you saw Truly and Baker going into the building?
Mr. SHELLEY. It would have to be 3 or 4 minutes I would say because this girl that ran back up there was down near where the car was when the President was hit.
Mr. BALL. She ran back up to the door and you had still remained standing there?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes.
Mr. BALL. Going to watch the rest of the parade were you?
Mr. SHFZLEY. Yes.
Mr. BALL. The Vice President hadn’t gone by, had he, by your place?
Mr. SHELLEY. I don’t know. I didn’t recognize him. I did recognize Mr. Kennedy and his suntan I had been hearing about.
Mr. BALL. How did you happen to see Truly?
Mr. SHELLEY. We ran out on the island while some of the people that were out watching it from our building were walking back and we turned around and we saw an officer and Truly.
Mr. BALL. And Truly?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Mr. SHELLEY. Yes.
Mr. BALL. Did you see them go into the building7
Mr. SHELLEY. So; we didn’t watch that long but they were at the first step like they were fixin’ to go in.
Mr. BALL. Were they moving at the time, walking or running?
Mr. SHELLEY. Well, they were moving, yes.
Mr. BAL.L. Were they running?
Mr. SHELLEY. That, I couldn’t swear to; there were so many people around.
Mr. BALL. What did you and Billy Lovelady do?
Mr. SHELLEY. We walked on down to the flrst railroad track there on the dead-end street and stood there and watched them searching cars down there in the parking lots for a little while and then we came in through our parking lot at the west end.
Mr. BALL. At the west end?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes ; and then in the side door into the shipping room.
Mr. BILL. When you came into the shipping room did you see anybody?
Mr. SHELLEY. I saw Eddie Piper.
Mr. BALL. What was he doing?
Mr. SHELLEY. He was coming back from where he was watching the motorcade in the southwest corner of the shipping room.
Mr. BALL. Of the first floor of the building?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes.
Mr. BALL. Who else did you see?
Nr. SHELLEY. That’s all we saw immediately.
Mr. BALL. Did you ever see Vickie Adams?
Mr. SHELLEY. I saw her that day but I don’t remember where I saw her.
Mr. BALL. You don’t remember whether you saw her when you came back?
Mr. SHELLEY. It was after we entered the building.
Mr. BALL. You think you did see her after you entered the building?
Nr. SHELLEY. Yes, sir; I thought it was on the fourth floor awhile after that.
Mr. BALL. Now, did the police come into the building?
Illr. SHELLEY. Yes, sir ; they started coming in pretty fast.
Mr. BALL. Did you go with them any place?
Mr. SHELLEY. Yes; Mr. Truly left me guarding the elevator, not to let anybody up and down the elevator or stairway and some plainclothesmen came in; I don’t know whether they were Secret Service or FBI or what but they wanted me to take them upstairs, so we went up and started searching the various floors.

Billy Lovelady fantasises even some more during his Warren Commission testimony.

I have added some notes in bold.

Mr. BALL – Now, when Gloria came up you were standing near Mr. Shelley?
Mr. LOVELADY – Yeah.
Mr. BALL – When Gloria came up and said the President had been shot, Gloria Calvary, what did you do?
Mr. LOVELADY – Well, I asked who told her. She said he had been shot so we asked her was she for certain or just had she seen the shot hit him or–she said yes, she had been right close to it to see and she had saw the blood and knew he had been hit but didn’t know how serious it was and so the crowd had started towards the railroad tracks back, you know, behind our building there and we run towards that little, old island and kind of down there in that little street. We went as far as the first tracks and everybody was hollering and crying and policemen started running out that way and we said we better get back into the building, so we went back into the west entrance on the back dock had that low ramp and went into the back dock back inside the building.
Mr. BALL – First of all, let’s get you to tell us whom you left the steps with.
Mr. LOVELADY – Mr. Shelley.
Mr. BALL – Shelley and you went down how far?
Mr. LOVELADY – Well, I would say a good 75, between 75 to 100 yards to the first tracks. See how those tracks goes—
Mr. BALL – You went down the dead end on Elm?
Mr. LOVELADY – Yes.
Mr. BALL – And down to the first tracks?
Mr. LOVELADY – Yes.
Mr. BALL – Did you see anything there?
Mr. LOVELADY – No, sir; well, just people running.
Mr. BALL – That’s all?
Mr. LOVELADY – And hollerin.
Mr. BALL – How did you happen to go down there?
Mr. LOVELADY – I don’t know, because everybody was running from that way and naturally, I guess—
Mr. BALL – They were running from that way or toward that way?
Mr. LOVELADY – Toward that way; everybody thought it was coming from that direction.
Mr. BALL – By the time you left the steps had Mr. Truly entered the building?
Mr. LOVELADY – As we left the steps I would say we were at least 15. maybe 25. steps away from the building. I looked back and I saw him and the policeman running into the building.
Mr. BALL – How many steps?
Mr. LOVELADY – Twenty, 25.
Mr. BALL – Steps away and you looked back and saw him enter the building?
Mr. LOVELADY – Yes. At no time in the Couch film is Lovelady seen looking back.
Mr. BALL – Then you came back. How long did you stay around the railroad tracks?
Mr. LOVELADY – Oh, just a minute, maybe minute and a half.
Mr. BALL – Then what did you do?
Mr. LOVELADY – Came back right through that part where Mr. Campbell, Mr. Truly, and Mr. Shelley park their cars and I came back inside the building.
Mr. BALL – And enter from the rear?
Mr. LOVELADY – Yes, sir; sure did.
Mr. BALL – You heard the shots. And how long after that was it before Gloria Calvary came up?
Mr. LOVELADY – Oh, approximately 3 minutes, I would say.
Mr. BALL – Three minutes is a long time.
Mr. LOVELADY – Yes, it’s—I say approximately; I can’t say because I don’t have a watch; it could.
Mr. BALL – Had people started to run?
Mr. LOVELADY – Well, I couldn’t say because she came up to us and we was talking to her, wasn’t looking that direction at that time, but when we came off the steps–see, that entrance, you have a blind side when you go down the steps.
Mr. BALL – Right after you talked to Gloria, did you leave the steps and go toward the tracks?
Mr. LOVELADY – Yes.
Mr. BALL – Did you run or walk?
Mr. LOVELADY – Medium trotting or fast walk.
Mr. BALL – A fast walk?
Mr. LOVELADY – Yes.
Mr. BALL – How did you happen to turn around and see Truly and the policeman go into the building?
Mr. LOVELADY – Somebody hollered and I looked.
Mr. BALL – You turned around and looked?
Mr. LOVELADY – Yes. Again at no time in the Couch film is Lovelady seen looking back or responding to any hollering.

Lovelady then also destroys Vicky Adams’ testimony from a time perspective with his WC testimony, so the Commission can claim she was wrong.

It has become obvious that Bill Shelley and Billy Lovelady were lying while being interviewed by Joseph Ball all to mess with the timings perspective with regards Oswald and them going back to one of the rear entrances since that would also show how long it took before the building was actually secured. The TSBD  exits after the shooting resembled Swiss cheese for many minutes after the shooting.

These statements and the Warren Commission testimonies by Bill Shelly and Billy Lovelady show plenty that they did leave the steps almost immediately after the shooting and that they cannot be accounted on the steps for in the Jimmy Darnell film, besides walking westwards and being seen doing so in a better capture in the Malcolm Couch film.

Buell Frazier during his H.S.C.A. testimony (tape 2) is specifically asked by the interviewer when Lovelady and Shelley left the steps and to everyone’s amazement (including mine) he states that this happened before the motorcade made the turn on to to Elm St.

Subsequently he is confronted with the Altgens 6 photo which shows Lovelady standing on the steps while Kennedy is shot in the throat, so after the turn on Elm St.

Detailed crop of the HSCA version of Altgens 6 with Lovelady on the left.. Source Mary Ferrell.

In closing.

Shelly was Oswald’s supervisor and worked directly under Roy Truly.

Lovelady had a weapons charge dangling of which Ochus Campbell (Roy Truly’s boss) paid off the remainder of Lovelady’s fine as he was being re-arrested for non-payment.

You wonder where these men’s loyalties lie? Not with someone who only joined a month before the big event and who later on it turned out to be living in Russia for almost three years

There is quite a bit pointing to that Shelly and Lovelady left the steps to go west of the TSBD almost immediately after the shots had been fired. In fact Lovelady makes his way down the steps before Wiegman exited the car and that was before the head shot.

From the footage that is around with Lovelady in it. It shows that he was an inquisitive person as he manoeuvred himself up and down on those steps to get a better view of the limo.

Prayer Man The Movie December Update

The movie has been out and about just over three weeks and has had about 1,000 hits so far, which is more than I thought I would have so this amount has been a pleasant surprise.

[fb_pe url=”https://www.facebook.com/PrayerManExonerationOfLeeHarveyOswald/posts/1501288616841542″ bottom=”30″]

Stan Dane, and a few others did their best to gather as many likes, clicks or better yet viewings of the movie and the feedback has been extremely positive. I made a few mistakes such as misspelling two authors names, which is a massive screw up from my side, thanks to Ray Mitcham for pointing that out and this will be rectified for V2.

I have already applied some changes with regards media, Linda Giovanna Zambanini has been very helpful with identifying a few peeps and I myself have been lucky as well so there are more images to some of the peeps who are mentioned in the movie. The strange thing is that this quest to identify the people and the law enforcement personnel is only something from the past 3 years or so that online researchers started to dig into the identities of the peeps that were ‘involved’.

The overall goal with V2 is to make it all a bit more comprehensive and above all clearer for everyone to go through since it is quite a bit of data that needs to be absorbed. I myself think that the movie will be closer to two hours once the other bits have been added. The women will get their ‘say’: Vicky Adams, Sandra Styles, Carolyn Arnold, Geneva Hine are a few that will be featured. The interrogations of Oswald will get a huge redo. The intro will be changed as well. So in short V2 will be a complete new movie.

And then after V2, the book and this website will get my full attention, the site already gets sporadic page updates, but at some point the big one will happen and all text and media will be added on en masse, when that will be is still a bit of an enigma but no doubt I’ll be shouting this of the roof tops once done.

The negative reactions I received were piss poor not one could refute the barrage of evidence that was used in conjunction with the media presented. They could only push their own ideas forward since that is the only thing they can believe in, instead of reading and above all studying all the evidence, zealots who will only believe what they see as true. Quite boring actually and not worth any further attention.

Buell Wesley Frazier Part 1

Buell Wesley Frazier, has always been a major person of interest in this case, he allegedly took Lee Harvey Oswald to work that day and let him go with his ‘package’ inside the TSBD. A package not seen by Jack Dougherty when Oswald entered the building.

Charles Douglas Givens asked Buell Wesley Frazier where his rider was when he walked inside the TSBD and I am not going into depth about all that as it is widely discussed at ROKC HERE

Buell Wesley Frazier has been one of the few Texas School Book Depository employees who is alive and still talks about that day in 1963 in Dealey Plaza, Dallas Texas. In the last few years he has been more talkative than the years before when he would only go to the 6th Floor Museum or participate in a documentary doing his run one more time in an old car reenacting the ride he had with Lee Oswald that morning.

Buell Wesley Frazier was in for rough treatment from the DPD later that day after he was picked up from the hospital while visiting a sick relative and just before he was about to be arriving at home he was hauled back in. We know that Captain Will Fritz wanted him to sign a confession in being an accomplice, which he refused after Fritz raised his hand to strike at him, why this did not happen is a bit of an enigma and perhaps the Lancer 2015 Conference can give some more answers in Jan. 2016 when the transcirpt and video becomes available.

Here are 4 shots from the Richard E Sprague archive ROKC managed to scan in at NARA

Pic. credit Jim Murray

Larry Hancock made a blogpost about Buell Wesley Frazier’s appearance there, at Lancer. In the comment section at the bottom and I quote “Frazier says that he went out on the steps and was intent on looking out and down, he can identify folks in front of him such as Lovelady but he does not recall ever turning around and looking to his side or behind him so he has no direct recollection of anyone at all standing where PM appears to be located. He can’t make any identification from the photo…which is no big surprise. He also has no idea of whether that person had been there for a time or might have come out when everyone else was on the steps. I did get the impression that the steps filled up with people from the building and that it was unlikely any outsider had pushed through to the top of the steps so whoever it was somebody from inside the building.”

I find this whole scenario hard to swallow, especially when the still grab from the Jimmy Darnell film clearly shows he is looking and possibly interacting with Prayer Man, hell Prayer Man is even looking back. There is no need to deny this, the shot says so.

Enter Greg Burnham, someone who forbids any discussion of Prayer Man at his forum, but has bought the ad words for it to get top ranking in Google (go figure).

He posts at the Education Forum: “David Mantik told me a few days ago that at this year’s Lancer Conference Buell Wesley Frazier denied that Oswald was anywhere near the front of the TSBD, on the steps, or was Doorman. Frazier is an eyewitness who was there, who knew Oswald, and was in a position to know if LHO was there or not. Frazier was unequivocal about it.” Again this has hardly any bearing whatsoever, why would Frazier admit to it, as that would mean that the jig was up if he admitted to it there and then. Plus why these two all of the sudden put their snouts in the Prayer Man through is questionable as well. Surely trying to grab the glory for the discovery of it all, since I cannot think otherwise as this part of the case has hardly had a mention or one iota of research by them these past few years in any way.

Prayer Man The Movie Release

Yes!!!!!!!!!

Here it is, finally :) Go full screen for a maximum visual experience, as it is upped at 1080 pixels.

John Barbour’s Last Word On ‘The Garrison Tapes’

It was Jim Garrison’s On The Trail Of the Assassins that got me hooked on the JFK assassination and the first few books I read about the case were always related to Garrison and the Clay Shaw trial.

I have always liked John Barbour, first of all for making The Garrison Tapes (I bought his dvd about two years ago) and also for his open way of talking about all of what has happened around it all, enough for a book I reckon. Barbour is someone who like Jim Garrison and Harold Weisberg ended up becoming unpopular in his business because of what he believed in and which happened to be going against the so called flow, better yet: rocking the boat too much. I won’t spoil anything, but I do suggest you watch the video, it is a great thing to watch.

Below is an interview by Len Osanic of BlackOpRadio and John Barbour which is excellent, Osanic shows some good pictures, some of which I have never seen before and he wisely lets John Barbour do the talking.

My fave bit is at 47:20 “Some of the people researching the assassination are as much of a stumbling block as the CIA”. So true!

Prayer Man the movie part 2

I have finished the movie, but decided not to release it publicly just yet as I feel the need to edit it a bit. The whole thing lasts 1 hr 20 mins and I reckon it needs to be 20/25 mins shorter and certain bits need to be snappier and have a better multi-media representation. It is just odds and sods, but since I worked non stop on this for the past 20 days I have given myself a few days break as I have been so on top of it all. I hope to have this ready by this time next week.

Then I also did a Prayer Man talk at the yearly commemoration of JFK’s death with the posse of Dealey Plaza UK, where I am a member of. I spoke for two hours and it was all really civil where the watchers were asking the odd question in between, cleverly they were waiting while I was pausing and sipping from pints 1/2/3/4 :)

I managed to yap for two hours without any notes and using the same software that will be in the movie and this helped me as well in knowing what to do next with the movie, so all in all a good exercise. I also showed them a bunch of pix that the knowledgeable ones had not even seen and which I shall post soon here as well. The head honchos thought it would be a good idea to repeat this talk with new additional stuff in April 2016 at the Canterbury conference and even for the print edition of the Dealey Plaza Echo (when that will be is still open).

A tiring but satisfying last week.

Special thanks to Phil Murray of Live AV for helping out with a shiny screen to present my talk on!

Prayer Man-The Movie

I am sorry for not being that active on the blog front these past two weeks, reason for that is that a bundle of work was tossed my way which meant I was away a lot and I am also working on getting this movie finished which will be shown at the Melbourne ROKC Conference, but also at the yearly DPUK JFK remembrance gathering on the 22nd this month.

The film itself will be online on the 23rd for everyone to see. This will be a first draft with a more in depth version to follow some time in Q1 2016 alongside with the book that I have been blabbing about for months. And again this is also why this site will remain a work in progress for a few more months to come.

What I can say is that we managed to get some kick arse pix from a certain researcher and we have been scanning this material in. We also have more to come over the next week or so, some of it will appear in the movie, the book and this website and I can assure you that many of these shots have not been seen by the average JFK researcher before let alone the general public! This is all thanks to one certain ROKC member who has spent a few days numbing his skull scanning all the work in. My deepest gratitude for him to do all this.

I attach a few screens of backgrounds that will be used for the movie “Only The Shadow Knows: Prayer Man, More Than Just A Fuzzy Picture” out in 9 days!

Jimmy Darnell and Malcolm Couch snippet overlay

Gerda Dunckel did it first in 2012, but the size was just simply too small and it was a gif.
But boy did it help the JFK research community,  however for my forthcoming Prayer Man movie, part 1 I needed a larger res.
The movie will be shown at the ROKC Conference and at the DPUK meeting on Nov. 22nd. It will be shown in its full glory on the 23rd for the rest of the world to view.I dug out two relatively larger film clips from documentaries and I asked Ed Ledoux to build me a new clip with the focus on Marrion Baker and above all Prayer Man.
So there it is in full glory and in slow motion.
Thank you Ed!!!

Jim Murray – Blackstar

Recently we managed to have some scans made of someones archive (his name shall be kept a secret for now). In his collection (that was plundered by many before us) we found a contact sheet belonging to Jim Murray of the Dallas Times Herald.

We can see Mary Moorman, Larry Florer, Charles Brehm, Ruth Dean, Madeleine Reese the cordoning off the TSBD and a peek inside a cafe. A lot of these photographs were shown first in That Day In Dallas by Richard Trask who managed to obtain the rights from Black Star Photo Agency.

Lone Gunman Podcast Ep.84 Prayer Man Revisited

Rob Clark did another pod cast on Prayer Man, this time with a lot of info from Stan Dane’s recent book Out Of The Shadows And Into The Light: Prayer Man. A book I will review in the next week or so myself.

It contains a few mistakes but overall it is a huge improvement compared to last year’s episode which I reviewed a few weeks back. Great work Rob now please tell all your listeners to contact the 6th FloorMuseum and ask for the release of the  1st generation copy of the Darnell film!

TSBD 3D

I have been asked to make a little Prayer Man movie for the ROKC conference in Melbourne, I have also had a helping hand with the creation of a 3D model by Kliff Potasnick. He sent me a couple of screen shots of the beginning and it looks lovely that I decided to post them as a taster. Much more to come.

Thanks Kliff great work!!!

The search for the Wiegman & Darnell films

This article  was orginally posted on Oct. 17 2015. It has been in part re-written, re-edited and updated in Sept. 2024.

In March 2015, Gary Mack sent a few members of the Education Forum a PM which contained some info on the Darnell & Wiegman films, I quote from the PM Darren Hastings received (third post from the top), and I quote from his post: NBC owns the original Wiegman film but when producers of JFK: Death in Dealey Plaza asked them for it 12 years ago (at my request), NBC could only locate a 1960s-era video tape of it. We wound up using, I think, a 1963/1964 theatrical newsreel version held by UCLA.

NBC took the original Wiegman and Darnell films from the Dallas NBC affiliate to New York following the assassination weekend. Whether the network still has the original Darnell film is unknown, but as a former employee I know the affiliate does not have it or a copy. Nor does Jimmy Darnell.

Fortunately, a first-generation 16mm copy print was made in Dallas over that weekend and it is in the Museum’s collection; however, the Museum cannot do anything with it until copyright issues are resolved. It’ll happen, and sooner rather than later.

Then in Sep 2015 I happen to see this NBC5 news segment from roughly two years prior, I speculate that it was because of the 50th anniversary. In this video Gary Mack, at that time the curator of the Sixth Floor Museum, visited the archives of NBC5 in East Fort Worth. Mack had a close relationship with the channel. He used to work for KXAS (as the network was named before it became NBC5), starting in 1981, according to the NYT, where part of his job was to manage and preserve the station’s film archives and its coverage of the assassination and its aftermath.

The video shows Mack of the 6th Floor Museum going into a room in a basement of NBC 5, where various boxes are standing on shelves which contain WBAP (later to become KXAS) film spools of the JFK Assassination and above all its aftermath, looking at this makes me think about all the excuses TV corporations and disinfo agents spread about the films being hard to find or ‘locked away’ when the video clearly shows that the films are just placed in a box without any serious form of preservation and identification present.

My and a handful of others’ quest has always been to find the best possible versions of the Dave Wiegman and Jimmy Darnell films. It has been challenging to say the least.

Then UNT Libraries posts a press release, which now has been removed from their website, and replaced with this page where they state that they will house the complete news archive from NBC5/KXAS (formely WBAP)  from 1950 – 2012 and that the UNT Library will digitise all this material.

Following this I contacted the UNT Library on Sept 7 2015 and conversed  with Morgan Gieringer, I asked her about the films and if there was an inventory list of them.

I quote from her reply: KXAS made a prior agreement with the 6th Floor Museum in Dallas to donate all JFK related news footage to the museum.  You will need to contact them with this inquiry.

After getting this message the first thing I did was to contact the 6th Floor Museum through Twitter and asked them if they had these films. To which I got the following reply.
twitter 6th floor museum asking where is the darnell film

I contacted MG again and asked: another email from me, just when I thought and you probably as well the matter was closed, but the funny thing is that when I asked the 6th floor museum whether they had the KXAS film collection and they denied they had any of it.

So now I have a dilemma as I have no idea now who to approach.
Do you have any documentation or links that show that the material did go to the 6th floor museum?
Do you have any type of inventory list?
To which she replied on Sep 14: Interesting…. Could you possibly give me the name of the person you spoke with at the 6th floor museum? I am working on obtaining an inventory from KXAS of the film which was transferred to the museum.
Since it was a response through Twitter it was not possible to ascertain who exactly wrote that message to me. I relayed this to her and also asked her about the inventory list.
She replied to me again that same day: I do not know how long it will take to get the inventory from KXAS. In the meantime I suggest that you email the collections curators at the museum directly. The person responding to their twitter messages may just be uninformed, or the collection may be uncatalogued, but they absolutely do have the KXAS footage.
On Oct 1st 2015 I emailed Megan Bryant and asked her about this discrepancy.

She replied on Oct 9: Our social media response that we do not have the WBAP (now KXAS) / NBC5 films in our collection here at The Sixth Floor Museum was accurate.  By now you have probably heard directly from the station, as I let them know about your inquiry.  That material is still maintained by the station and is managed by NBC Universal Archives.  It is searchable online here.

It is regrettable that you were misdirected by the UNT Library, but we have since made sure they are aware that the material in question is not in our collection.

I contacted NBC 5 as well and Sharla Alford  assistant to the News Director/Custodian of Records got back to me promptly telling me that the University Of North Texas or the 6th Floor Museum has got all the JFK Assassination related film material from KXAS.

I replied and asked her if she could provide an inventory of the films, to which I got a reply from Brain Hocker, who is the VP of programming, research and digital media at NBC5.

He forwarded me to their online archive instead containing all the video screeners that were beamed across the nation that weekend and just after. Video, exactly the low resolution is not worth the bother, as the HD documentaries that have shown snippets of these films are in a larger resolution than what was offered to me. Furthermore the Darnell film was nowhere to be seen and the Weigman film was shown 3 times, and only once did it show the front of the TSBD.

I replied asking them (Brian Hocker at NBC5 and Megan Bryant at the 6th Floor Museum) several questions:

1/The film reels are clearly shown in the NBC5 news item, as shown above, just dormant in some boxes on a shelve in the basement at NBC5 archives, so where are they now?

2/Why are they not being digitised at ENT since everything else from that period of KXAS is?

3/Where are the original Darnell and Weigman films?

4/Can we get some high resolution still scans of the 1st gen. Darnell film that is at the 6th Floor Museum?

Then in August 2024 the Sixth Floor Museum issues a press release about the Darnell film. Furthermore the museum shares the film for public viewing.

Dennis Morrisette posts at the education forum (5 posts from the bottom) that Stephen Fagin has replied to his email:  Thanks for your e-mail. We know there has been some interest in the Museum’s recent YouTube upload, and we are so pleased to be able to finally share the Darnell film online considering the researcher interest over the years. To clarify, the Museum does not have the camera original Darnell film. To our knowledge, if that film still exists, it is with NBC in New York. What we have is a print of the film that originally came to the Museum as part of the G. William Jones Collection back in 2006. Since the Museum did not have the rights from the local NBC affiliate (NBC 5 / KXAS-TV) to use the WBAP-TV footage in the Jones Collection, we were not able to do anything with the films without KXAS’s permission for specific projects. This changed only recently when NBC 5 / KXAS-TV generously donated their assassination-related footage to the Museum—and included rights to the WBAP-TV footage already in the Museum’s Jones Collection, which includes our print of the Darnell film. The late Gary Mack speculated that our copy of the Darnell film was a first-generation print of the film and shared this belief with researchers many years ago. I was twice asked about this same print of the Darnell film at JFK Lancer conferences, and I noted at that time that we could not be certain that it was a first-generation print. That is still the case. So, again, this is the same print that has been in the Museum’s possession since 2006. We simply now have the rights to share it publicly. What we put online is an excerpt from the digitization of the film, so the quality is as it appears. It is the same transfer that researchers were previously able to view by appointment in the Museum’s Reading Room.

Ok so what can we ‘discover’ in that film that wasn’t in view before in earlier versions?

I managed to see Otis Wiliams still being on the steps. Something I could not see In previous Darnell versions, it was nothing more than a highlighted blurry blob. Now you can see Williams, wearing his white shirt and tie has at the time Darnell filmed the Marrion Baker run remained in the same position as he has been in the Altgens 6 photo

and the Dave Wiegman film.

Who Was Prayer Man Podcast

Rob Clark did a podcast about a year ago on Prayer Man,  click to listen.

Prayer Man-Darnell-BK

Listening to it, and considering it is a year old it is missing a few bits of research. I will try and straighten a few things out if you intend to listen to it.

Prayer Man was captured by Dave Weigman and Jimmy Darnell, and not by Malcolm Couch, his swerve to the right with his camera did not go as far as the TSBD steps, but the Couch film is an asset nevertheless as it shows William Hoyt Shelley and Billy Nolan Lovelady walking away towards the parking lot behind the knoll. This is an important fact to know as it helps reduce the possible candidates of who Prayer Man actually is.

lovelady and shelly in couch-BK-

Sean Murphy deserves the large part of the credit of creating Prayer Man, but the exact moment of discovery at this time, is hard to ascertain, that is because the JFK Lancer forum where this possibly happened has gone offline, the Education Forum hopes to reinstate it later, Summer 2016, so they say. It was supposed to be sorted in November this year but they have added at least 6 months on top of it.

The real discoverer of Prayer Man is Richard E Sprague (more about him when my essay is out) who mentioned the man hidden in the shadows, when he saw Dave  Weigman’s film. He mentioned it in the late 60’s already. His correspondence with Harold Weisberg and Richard Benarbei shows this.

Rob Clark makes good mention of the basic issues such as the first day affidavits of Baker, Lovelady and Shelly which do not correspond with the Warren Commission testimony.

He then talks about Bill Shelley, and the identification of him and the pictures that are around. This is where he is wrong. His identity has  been solved with the many pictures and the statements that are available of him. Shelly also said he escorted and was at the police station giving statements with Danny Garcia Arce and Bonnie Ray Williams.

Then he makes the statement that he cannot see Billy Lovelady in Dave Weigman’s film, well here he is Rob :) And that is and Prayer Man and Billy Nolan Lovelady together.

Lovelady in Weigman

Regarding Will Fritz’s interrogation notes it is not that simple, one needs to add James Bookhout’s and Harry D Holmes reports and testimony into account as well, and a different picture starts to emerge (again this site will show the hows etc in due course).

Jack Dougherty is brought up as well, and rightly so, to this day a very shady character with not much info available about him. His statements were so iffy, and Roy Truly told everyone not to pay too much attention to him as he was mildly retarded, yeah sure Roy. The Warren Commission wanted to grill Jack Dougherty big time as they did not believe what he was saying, well if the W.C. wants to seriously question someone then something is really amiss……

Rob Clark brings up a valid point that all TSBD employees should have been photographed when their testimony was taken, it would have helped of course.

Then Rob cannot believe that Oswald was standing there all that time while the shooting was going on and after and not being seen or recognised or mentioned in any of the testimony. He makes a mention of Lee Harvey Oswald getting change on the 2nd floor as per Robert Groden’s story, which has been disproved the minute it came out in his book. Jim Marrs tried to flog this one as well, but there is no evidence whatsoever that this actually happened. Nor did Oswald ever make a mention of it.

Can Buell Wesley Frazier be believed asks Rob, well no……

Rob is right to doubt the bus ride, the cab ride and the timings involved since they are not possible.

Could it be a stranger he asks, which has been disproved. Nor does it hold 100 employees, 79 at the most. The Warren Commission got 73 statements in the end.

The identification of the African American guy en-profile is not Otis Williams but Carl Edward Jones. Otis Williams and his pot belly stands in the center above Maddie Reese in Altgens 6.

HSCA enlargement w names

Overall not a bad attempt at discussing this but there is a lot missing, and I mean a lot, and as mentioned I will paste it all here on this site hopefully very soon.

Harold Weisberg

Pictures HW 07

Harold Weisberg. Pic courtesy of The Weisberg Archive.

Of all the researchers in the JFK Assassination case I probably regard Harold Weisberg the highest, granted he made some mistakes (doorman being LHO and leaking the first draft of the JFK movie script to a buddy of his at the Washington Post) but for those ‘mistakes’ he made up with his tenacious efforts of digging things up by either going to the National Archives in Wa., or by issuing FOIA or even go to court, together with Jim Lesar.

He found Carolyn Arnold’s (now known as Carolyn A. Johnston) statements. It was also his doing that Earl Golz found and interviewed her in 1978. Carolyn Arnold provided Lee Harvey Oswald an alibi.

Here is a fabulous interview on Barry Earnest’s site The Girl On The Stairs, this interview from 1999 still stands the test of time. His view is realistic and above all he doesn’t get carried away like the many other researchers.

Harold Weisberg’s archive is a treasure trove, not only for the documents he dug up but also all his correspondence, be it to government agencies but also fellow researchers. And then there are the letters where he lets rip on some of these fellow researchers, boy oh boy….

If you want to start digging then Weisberg’s archive is a great place to start, only thing is it may you a little while……don’t say I did not warn you.

His archive has helped me heaps with trying to piece all this together, and if you have a serious interest in this case I suggest you get the Whitewash series for starters.  Terrific reads.

Prayer Man essay update

I have been roaming at forums a little too much but I managed to get quite a bit of work done.

The essay, as it stands, is 430 pages (of which a lot are docs and pix) and I reckon it will grow by another 30 odd, it’s the linking and making the puzzle understandable that is the most work.

I hope to release it end of Oct. or early Nov. then again there are a few gaps which I hope to fill, so a delay is not of the books either, will update as soon as I have something more concrete to say…..

You Have Been Charged With Shooting The President

This is the moment of Lee Harvey Oswald being charged with shooting President JFK at the press conference, which was in reality nothing but a farce.

Check out the facial expressions he shows, which to me shows at first utter disbelief followed up by “I am being thrown under a bus here”.

I will place galleries in this post from various angles, conclude for yourself.

W.B. Barnett of the DPD

W.B. Barnett of the DPD

I found this document the other day while trawling for something else (always the way so it seems), and at ROKC, there is a fab thread about whether actually shots have been fired from the TSBD.

Eugene Barnett did not see a barrel being drawn in, or anything, shooting wise of any kind while looking up.

Part of his WC testimony:

Mr. LIEBELER – When the motorcade actually came, you moved over pretty much into Houston Street?
Mr. BARNETT – Yes, sir.
Mr. LIEBELER – To stop the traffic that was coming?
Mr. BARNETT – South on Houston Street. the car passed within a few feet of me, and I was holding some people, or seeing that they stayed back, and one small boy started. I was afraid he was going to get too close, and I stopped him

Mr. LIEBELER – How many shots did you here?
Mr. BARNETT – Three.

Mr. LIEBELER – You couldn’t tell specifically where it had come from?
Mr. BARNETT – Not the first one, but I thought it was a firecracker. But none of the people moved or took any action, whereas they would have if a firecracker went off. And when the second shot was fired, it sounded high. The sound of the second one seemed to me like it was coming from up high, and I looked up at the building and I saw nothing in the windows. In fact, I couldn’t even see any windows at that time.

Mr. LIEBELER – What did you do when you concluded that the shots were coming from that building?
Mr. BARNETT – I ran to the back of the building.
Mr. LIEBELER – Ran down Houston Street?
Mr. BARNETT – Yes, sir.
Mr. LIEBELER – There is a door in the back of the Texas School Book Depository. Does it face on Houston or around the corner?

Mr. LIEBELER – Did you go in the building?
Mr. BARNETT – No, sir; I didn’t get close to it, because I was watching for a fire escape. If the man was on top, he would have to come down, and I was looking for a fire escape, and I didn’t pay much attention to the door. I was still watching the top of the building, and so far as I could see, the fire escape on the east side was the only escape down.
Mr. LIEBELER – Since you surmised that the shots had come from the building, you looked up and you didn’t see any windows open. You thought they had been fired from the top of the building?
Mr. BARNETT – That’s right.

Mr. LIEBELER – Did you see anybody coming off the fire escape up there, or any movement on top of the building?
Mr. BARNETT – Not a thing.

Mr. LIEBELER – How long do you think it was from the time the last shot was fired until the time you were at the front door keeping people from going in and out?
Mr. BARNETT – It was around 2 1/2 minutes. Maybe between 2 1/2 or 3 minutes.
Mr. BARNETT – Three minutes at the most.

Mr. LIEBELER – Did you let anybody out of the building after you got there?
Mr. BARNETT – No, sir; until they were authorized.
Mr. LIEBELER – Did you notice Oswald around that area at anytime?
Mr. BARNETT – No, sir

Mr. LIEBELER – Were there any other men assigned down the length of Elm Street here, that you know?
Mr. BARNETT – Not that I know of. There were no men stationed permanently there.
Mr. LIEBELER – The responsibility of control in that area would have been the job of the motorcycle riders and the Secret Service men?
Mr. BARNETT – That’s right.

There is a lot to show for to dispute the fact that 3 shots were actually fired from the 6th floor of the TSBD. No one saw muzzle flash, recoil or smoke for staters. Crown witness Howard Brennan was blind as a bat and could not account for much, and definitely not enough for Oswald to be there (that’s because he was enjoying lunch with Buell Wesley Frazier and co. on the front steps of the TSBD!).
