John Barbour’s Last Word On ‘The Garrison Tapes’

It was Jim Garrison’s On The Trail Of the Assassins that got me hooked on the JFK assassination and the first few books I read about the case were always related to Garrison and the Clay Shaw trial.

I have always liked John Barbour, first of all for making The Garrison Tapes (I bought his dvd about two years ago) and also for his open way of talking about all of what has happened around it all, enough for a book I reckon. Barbour is someone who like Jim Garrison and Harold Weisberg ended up becoming unpopular in his business because of what he believed in and which happened to be going against the so called flow, better yet: rocking the boat too much. I won’t spoil anything, but I do suggest you watch the video, it is a great thing to watch.

Below is an interview by Len Osanic of BlackOpRadio and John Barbour which is excellent, Osanic shows some good pictures, some of which I have never seen before and he wisely lets John Barbour do the talking.

My fave bit is at 47:20 “Some of the people researching the assassination are as much of a stumbling block as the CIA”. So true!

Lone Gunman Podcast Ep.84 Prayer Man Revisited

Rob Clark did another pod cast on Prayer Man, this time with a lot of info from Stan Dane’s recent book Out Of The Shadows And Into The Light: Prayer Man. A book I will review in the next week or so myself.

It contains a few mistakes but overall it is a huge improvement compared to last year’s episode which I reviewed a few weeks back. Great work Rob now please tell all your listeners to contact the 6th FloorMuseum and ask for the release of the  1st generation copy of the Darnell film!

Harold Weisberg

Of all the researchers in the JFK Assassination case I probably regard Harold Weisberg the highest, granted he made some mistakes (doorman being LHO and leaking the first draft of the JFK movie script to a buddy of his at the Washington Post) but for those ‘mistakes’ he made up with his tenacious efforts of digging things up by either going to the National Archives in Wa., or by issuing FOIA or even go to court, together with Jim Lesar.

He found Carolyn Arnold’s (now known as Carolyn A. Johnston) statements. It was also his doing that Earl Golz found and interviewed her in 1978. Carolyn Arnold provided Lee Harvey Oswald an alibi.

Here is a fabulous interview on Barry Earnest’s site The Girl On The Stairs, this interview from 1999 still stands the test of time. His view is realistic and above all he doesn’t get carried away like the many other researchers.

Harold Weisberg’s archive is a treasure trove, not only for the documents he dug up but also all his correspondence, be it to government agencies but also fellow researchers. And then there are the letters where he lets rip on some of these fellow researchers, boy oh boy….

If you want to start digging then Weisberg’s archive is a great place to start, only thing is it may you a little while……don’t say I did not warn you.

His archive has helped me heaps with trying to piece all this together, and if you have a serious interest in this case I suggest you get the Whitewash series for starters.  Terrific reads.

No stranger on the front steps or inside the TSBD

I amended the graphics as I wanted to know how many of the TSBD employees stated whether they had seen any strangers inside or on the front steps of the TSBD. That strengthens  Prayer Man is a TSBD employee only more.

The graphics speak for themselves, the stranger on the steps scenario is dead in the water.

Update Sept 6th. I have added Roy Truly now as well stating he saw no strangers.

Update Sept 10th, also Avery Davis saw no strangers either which completes the entire list of people present on the front steps.
