I've always had deep concerns about this film.  There is not one discernible human shape in the doorway.  Not one.  It has always been something like a Jackson Pollock painting as the camera moves with the limousine.

Yes, I can see that someone has given her a face job and traces of the splice can be seen above.

 

I was not sure if that was an artifact of the film and/or processing but it certainly looks like someone has attempted darkening the vestibule area as well. But, then, that could just be my eyes.

 

If someone's cut off Jackie's nose to spite their own face, then there's mischief afoot. And I don't think it can be blamed on "motion blur".

Tha actual splice, where is it generally accepted that there are frames missing, is prior to this in the film.  There should be no splice on this frame.

I looked closer at that portion of the frame and it still looks like someone has overlayed a deeper shadow that originally existed.

Still, however, I can plainly make out the images of PM, Frazier and a guy with a tie next to him.

I wonder if some further details might be pulled up anyway?

I believe there is a shadow overlay on top of the area of the door too, Terry.  

Why all the background blur in the second frame I posted above but with  fairly sharp limousine and occupants?

Well that picture slightly advances the theory that Jackie is a Reptilian.8)

Here's a lower res scan of same picture. Jackie actually looks human, if anything background looks less blurry.

On the lower of the two frames, the "overlay" seems a bit wider and even covers the interior pillars framing the vestibule. The top fram shows the pillars without the "shading".

Also on the lower frame, the fire escape is doubled.

BTW:  The frame with the effect that looks like a double exposed background (motion blurred) is not included on any of the lower resolution versions available online.

Concerning the image of the TSBD Entrance:

The Sun was shining while Towner was filming.  The angle of the sun was 187° West of North (or 7° West of South if you prefer.)  As was obvious in the Darnell and Wiegman films, most of the entrance was in direct sunlight, while the NW area of the entrance (where PM was standing) was in shade.  There should be a perceptible difference in the lit and shaded areas of the entrance.  There is none in the frames shown above.

Even with motion blur, the  detailed ornamental concrete blocks next to the entrance are easily discernible. The figures on the steps are the same distance from the lens as the concrete blocks.  We know they are there but we cannot see even blurry images of them.

Someone mentioned blacking out  the entrance  ... gee, why would anyone do that?

I meant a sharepning tool inside a mov ed. proggie to put the focus more on the Limo, and yeah they did cosmetics to Jackie as well, are the credits at the end of the disc divulging anything Lee?

But yeah that background looks messed up, then again the original youtube version the people inside the doorway are barely recogniseable as well.

I think it has been an amazing turn of events over the past few weeks. Since several members here went to EdForum to bring the PM thread back into focus, there are now very active threads on both EdForum AND Stinky's trying different angles on the issue and finding more support for getting the film digitally upgraded.

Its amazing, since this thread was started to try and regain focus on PM, how well it is working across several forums. One almost becomes hopeful that some positive good may soon come to fruition.

After fifty years! So many researchers contributing evidence in a widespread cooperative effort, is more than I could have conceived of. For the first time in years I begin to feel that we may get this thing done in my lifetime.

It certainly does look like he's raised a camera, doesn't it? Or is it something else?

Am I correct in thinking if PM is totally in shadow that bright spot has to be a light source? How can it be so relective if there is no sunlight to reflect?

I believe PM is totally in the shadows. However, I don't necessarily believe the bright spot has to be a light source. For it to standout, it doesn't have to be reflecting direct sunlight. It reflects the surrounding, diffused ambient light from outside.

If PM or anybody standing there was holding a small mirror aimed out toward you on the street, you would see the light outside reflected back toward where you were (Wiegman with camera, in this case).

For example, the front entryway of my home faces south. The front door is recessed back about 10-12 feet and is deep in the shadows. There's a small window on the front door that's primarily shiny translucent glass. When viewing the entryway from the street, that window always stands out from the shadowy surroundings. It's simply reflecting indirect, diffused light coming in from the street.

I think this is what's happening in the PM pictures. Indirect light makes its way into the tunnel-like entryway, and certain objects, such as glass bottles, camera lenses, flash attachments, or watches reflect it back more easily, making those objects stand out and appear lighter. Or if conditions are exactly right, even a light source.
