There is nothing there plain and simple. His and other's interpretation of random noise as having a face buried in it is a common misconception that has everything to do with our natural inclination as human beings to see faces. It's the same as seeing faces in water stains, toast, rock formations etc. etc. etc. The truth is there is no face there except the one in the person's mind who sees it. To claim it is proof of anything is the height of irresponsible, agenda driven, deviance from any norm of valid research.

Gilbride has a habit of disappearing when the going gets tough.

Two years ago, he drove a stake into the ground, saying he was going to soundly defeat those who think the Second Floor encounter was a fabrication. He proceeded to quickly dig himself into a hole that he never could climb out of. He showed everyone his shoddy attention to detail. He made sweeping statements he could not support and were easily disproven. For a guy who seemed so stable and level-headed, I was stunned to see how shallow and petty he really was. In a period of two months, my respect for him, which had been very high, plummeted to zero. He saw the writing on the wall and walked away, saying he was done. Until he came back to The Education Forum a year later.

People with certain psychological issues (narcissists, gamma males, etc.) often wait for a chance to show they were right all along. When they think they can win, they come back and double-down. Then when they are again defeated, they slink off and wait for their next chance to try one more time.

Gilbride will be heard from again.
